Dr. Colwell is currently employed by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in the Special Education Section. She has been employed at OSPI since 1995. Her primary responsibilities include developing and implementing interagency agreements with other state agencies that have service responsibilities for children and youth with disabilities, and providing technical assistance and training to school districts, parents and community members on special education topics. Her experiences include teaching and administrative positions in general and special education in both the public and private sector. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Seattle University.
