Understanding How the WSRC Tracks Trends

The members of the WSRC are charged with the task of identifying trends within Washington’s Vocational Rehabilitation Program. We do this in several ways. Each quarter we review information about fair hearings and performance data produced by the Division for the Governor’s Government Management and Accountability Program (GMAP) which includes data about performance on standards and indicators established by the Rehabilitation Services Administration. The Council makes data requests when appropriate. Beyond relying on data produced by the Division, the Council considers other information including feedback from customers and stakeholders at the local level, original survey data and feedback from the Rehabilitation Services Administration. Our members endeavor to hold on to this wide range of information while they are developing policy recommendations for the Division.

Our members make recommendations in formal and informal ways. We have consistent ongoing dialogue with the Senior Leadership Team of the Division at our quarterly meetings and between meetings. We participate in work groups convened by the division. The Council participates in the development of the State Plan and the State Plan Update. The State Plan is a road map created by the Division at the request of the Rehabilitation Services Administration which explains how DVR intends to provide services. The Council authors section 4.2c of the State Plan, within which we catalogue our policy recommendations, general advice, and overall engagement with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
